Introduction: Doxology

All of creation was made to give glory to God. “The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork” (Ps.19:1).  God says we were also created for His glory (Isa. 43:7).  In fact, God’s role as Creator makes Him worthy of our glory: “Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created” (Rev. 4:11).

This paragraph is covered in lesson 4 and ought to be taken to heart as the process of discipleship begins.  All of life is for the glory of God.  This is never to be assumed.  It is to be pursued with all vigor and diligence.  The glory of God is the standard by which all short-comings are measured for Paul says to fall short is to fall “short of the glory of God” (Rom. 3:23).  All Biblical truth is God’s truth and points to His glory.  God is the main character of the Bible.  Redemptive History is brought about so that those who are saved by His grace would live to the praise of His glory (Eph. 1:6,12,14,17,18).  Salvation, heaven, blessings, struggles, victories, trials, works, efforts - life is to be lived so God receives glory.

This is the reason you were saved.  It ought to be the reason you walk the walk and fight the good fight of faith.  You are encouraged to intentionally and consciously focus all your energy upward that God might receive honor from your life and from your learning and obedience to His Word.  This is how Christ brought His Father glory (John 10:25; 17:5,6) and it is how we bring Him glory (Matt. 5:16).  Never take for granted the privilege of living for this purpose and as you learn these following concepts from the lessons to come, let them be building blocks that lift you higher and higher in your praise to God. “whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” 1 Cor. 10:31.

The Old Testament, as well as the New, has much to say about the Kingdom of God which is coming. In this 9 part series, Pastor William Heinrich takes us through the scriptures exploring many of the references to the kingdom.

What is the nature of the Kingdom?

Where is the Kingdom located?

What is fulfilled by the Kingdom?

Who are the subjects of the Kingdom?

If you have ever wondered about these questions, then open your Bibles and follow along as we explore the amazing prophetic Word about the coming kingdom of God.

Because there is too much man-centered preaching in the United States I tend to focus on Glory, and Sovereignty or some other attribute of God. Because of that, I tend to neglect practical topical preaching. This is all by design actually, because I tend to think that the scriptures are very practical.

But in this Course, I am going to focus almost exclusively on the application of God's Word on how we deal with each other in the Church.  We must learn to deal effectively and biblically in our interpersonal relationships within the church, the body of Christ.

Course on Inductive Bible Study.

Note takingIt is vital for every Christian to know how to study the Bible. You should be able to dig into God’s Word yourself to glean and to gain all the riches that the Bible contains. I often think of the words of Jeremiah who said, “Thy words were found, and I did eat them, and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart” (Jer. 15:16a). The Word of God is a tremendous resource. Christians should not be handicapped in their own ability to study God’s Word for themselves. So we are going to be examining how to study the Bible.
